Initial Assumptions

Our first class posting required thinking about some of our initial assumptions about disabilities and aging. Here are four of my initial assumptions:

1. Individuals often struggle psychologically to accept that they are aging.

2. Many aging individuals struggle accepting change, therefore they may resist new technologies which could prove helpful in their daily lives.

3. Most individuals with disabilities are able to fully participate in most daily activities.

4. ADA regulations are often times not followed by businesses and organizations due to lack of information or negligence.
